Minions circle Say HI to Diablo's minions - Learn everything about the monsters below

A rogue's greatest enemy is a minion under Diablo's control. The monsters that inhabit the world below Tristram are varied in their strengths, strategies of attack, and hit points. Many of the creatures have resistances or immunities to magical attacks while others are just deadly with a distance attack. As a rogue you have the ability to take out many creatures from a distance while staying relatively safe. This will come in handy when you are down in the lower levels and come upon some of the most meanest, toughest of Diablo's minions.

All creatures can be classified under three main classes - the Undead, the Animals, and the Demons. Each class has it's own characteristics with strengths and drawbacks. Though most follow true to their classes a few tend to over exceed the expectations and should be kept at a wary distance.

Attributes

Each creature has five basic attributes that you should be aware of when confronting them so as to use that knowledge to your advantage. Foreknowledge makes a good rogue forewarned to what dangers lie ahead.

Attribute

Definition

Resistance

when a creature is resistant to magic, fire, or lightning they can shrug off most attacks but eventually can be killed by the vary thing they are resistant to - only good when a few are around since a swarm could easily kill you before you wear them out

Immunity

when a creature is immune to magic, fire, or lightning no matter how times you may hit it it will never lose any hit points or sustain any damage thus being aware of what not to use can help increase your chances for survival

Damage

this indicates how much damage can be drawn from your mana or life ball when the creature strikes you hence always be aware of how powerful a creature is when you are about to confront it

Hit Points

this indicates how many points of damage you have to do to the creature to render it nullified BUT hit points do regenerate over time so unless you finish off a creature you could expect to see it pop back up again

Armour Class

this is the measure that indicates how hard it is to hit a monster - the higher the rating the tougher the creature will be to score a hit on hence those with a higher rating will take much longer to kill so be wary when you are surrounded

All of Diablo's minions only want one thing, to tear you from limb to limb, thus knowing what you are coming up against will help you survive their onslaught.

Diablo's Minions

The Undead are those that were once living citizens of Tristram, now under Diablo's rule. The best way to take care of the Undead is through the Holy Bolt spell. It's quick, relatively mana friendly, and is designed for the Undead only.

Animals are continually lusting for human flesh and will attack in swarms to fulfil that lust. They tend to be the quickest of those you will meet and make up for their lack of size by hunting in very large numbers. Most tend to be vulnerable to any form of attack and don't have string resistances making them easier pickings then the demons but a few do have ranged attacks so beware.

Demons are Diablo's nastiest creatures being the strongest, toughest, and more deadly then any other minion. They are extremely quick, smart, and aggressive making them very tough to beat. The majority of them have resistances and immunities to any of the three forms of magical attacks thus a smart rogue is a rogue who stays alive. Taking on a group one on one is a good way to die, by using stealth you can overcome the demons and survive another day.
