Transformational Spells



Blood Star

spell iconThis spell is what the succubi use - a red star is released which, upon impact, reduces the target's hit points by one third of your magic characteristic number. Though it utilises both your mana and life so use it wisely and sparingly.

Bone Spirit

spell iconThis spell also has a high cost to mana and life and like the blood star reduces your target's hit points by a third every time they are hit by the yellow star emitted from you. But the reduction is a third of the target's total hit points and isn't dependant on how high your magical number is making it more effective then the blood star.

Disarm**

spell iconThis spell is exclusive to the rogue. It enables the rogue to disarm any traps that might be found in chests or boxes. It is especially helpful when down in the lower levels because of the traps being more deadly with greater amounts of damage applied to them.

Golem

spell iconThis spell releases a golem who will fight on your behalf and seek out creatures close by. The golem will tend to follow your path and doesn't seek out target's unless they are in the area you are moving towards, but you never have to fear - the golem can be devastating when your proficiency is high enough to withstand swarming attacks.

Healing

spell iconThis spell heals you by filling up your life ball at a small cost to your mana. A good spell to use if you don't use mana shield and have run out of healing scrolls/potions.

Heal Others

spell iconA spell that will heal another of your party when you click on them once thrown. It's purpose is to help an ally who is down in health and could possibly die without your help. There is a better chance all will survive when you help each other out making this spell worth its weight in mana.

Holy Bolt

spell iconThis spell releases a shot of Holy magic that is only effective on the undead but is very useful because it causes great damage with hardly any mana loss.

Identify*

spell iconThis spell is used to identify magical properties on items you have found and is useful in finding out whether it is viable to keep it, sell it, or just leave it where you found it.

Infravision*

spell iconThis spell gives any creatures not in your direct line of sight a red glow which is handy when you are about to enter a large area and are 'dying' to see how many creatures you are going to have to combat. It has saved my life many times for knowledge is the key to a rogue's survival.

Mana Shield

spell iconThis spell releases a golden ball that hovers over your head and basically allows you to utilise your mana instead of your life ball when sustaining damage. This spell is a must because the loss of mana will be far less than the loss of health - plus. when you run out of mana you still have your life ball full.

Phase

spell iconI personally hate this spell and can't really see any use for it because of the fact that you are phased to an area determined by chance. Unless most of the level is clear the chances of phasing into an area full of creatures is very high and death is usually a lot closer than with just teleport. Plus the cost to mana is extremely high.

Resurrect*

spell iconThis spell enables the caster to resurrect a dead ally but a word of caution - don't resurrect someone until the coast is clear because they are resed with only 1 hit point to use, making them easy pickings from any type of creature - even the wimpy skeletons.

Stone Curse

spell iconThis must have spell turns your target into stone for a determined amount of time so that you may damage it without it causing any damage to you. The greater proficiency you have with it the longer your foe will stay frozen making it great to use against the uniques or swarms of denizens from Hell.

Telekinesis

spell iconThis spell allows you to pick up items that are beyond your reach, such as on the other side of a wall or obstruction. It is great to use in conjunction with the firewall - firewall in a room, stand back, and watch the creatures die while using the spell to pick up goodies they drop upon death.

Teleport

spell iconThis spell allows you to teleport to the point where your cursor is last laid and is a great spell to help you either move around an area more quickly or help you escape to an area or room that is clear if you are under heavy attack. But beware, always teleport into an already cleared area or you'll have a nasty surprise waiting for you.

Town Portal

spell iconThis spell releases a portal which allows an instant jump to town with a return passage thrown above - though once you have gone back down to wherever you came from the portal in town disappears. Hence, always remember to release another portal when you get back down so that you have a viable escape if need be.


** considered the 'sixth sense' giving the sister her 'sightless eye' - hence it is technically not a spell and can't be increased
